What I’m Grateful for Starting My 22nd Year

Since I turned 22 this week, I wanted to create something for me to look back on, to remember this stage of my life. So below I have listed seven things I’m grateful for starting year 22.

1. My family: I have such an amazing support system, and I know I’m really lucky to have that. If I ever have a tough day, I know everything will be okay because of that endless guidance and love from my parents, Liv and Jesse.

2. My spirituality: God has a way of giving me hope and assurance. I pray every night, always remembering to ask God to hold tightly the ones I’ve loved and lost.

3. My health: I think sometimes we can all take our health for granted, but this year I am making a goal for myself to be more thankful that I am able to walk, run, talk, listen, and all the other things that come with being human.

4. My job: throughout college and now post college, I’ve always had something to complain about in every job I’ve held. It’s natural, but also destructive. I walk into a space thinking, "okay, what could go wrong?’ Instead of asking "okay, what could go right?" It’s a negative headspace of mine that I’m working to get out of. With that being said, it’s really easy for me to take for granted the opportunity to have a job and continue my growth. This year I’m looking to be more open minded about what each opportunity brings.

5. My ability to travel: I never take this for granted! It’s something I love to do, and I am very much aware that not everyone gets the chance or has the ability. There's just something so incredible about being able to experience new cultures. I learn something from every place I go.

6. My apartment in SF: Jesse and I were in a panic three weeks ago trying to find a place to live and now that we have one it’s a huge relief! It’s somewhere for us to call home, and I truly believe we were meant for it.

7. My ambition: this one may sound a little strange, but I’m so grateful for my ambitious nature. It allows me to do things that might seem scary or challenging (like moving across the country). I think it’s so important to push yourself and try new things! You never know what may come out of a new adventure.

I wrote this post to remind myself of all the amazing things I have to be grateful for in life, but also to share this stage with you all. I love being able to communicate with my friends and family in this way - another thing in life I’m thankful for - the freedom to create and share that creativity with others.
