This year’s Thanksgiving was special for so many reasons. Although Jesse and I spent it a part, we were both able to see our families and reconnect after three months of being away from them. Below are a couple of ways we spent this eventful week, and some of the things that made it so special.
Jesse: I hadn’t built up enough PTO to go home this year for Thanksgiving, so my sisters gladly offered to spend a few days with me here in SF. Meeting them at the airport, and being able to spend time with them was really special.
Madison: Flying home to Aiken, SC after being gone for so long was so exciting. My mom picked me up from the airport Tuesday morning, and I got to see my dad and sister shortly after. We picked up right where we left off, like the distance and time apart never happened. I loved it!
Jesse: I showed my sisters all of the tourist sites, took them to the Pacific Ocean, and took them to all of the best restaurants Madison and I have found so far. It was hard to fit it all in.
Madison: I live for the nights that my family and I lounge in the living room, eating dinner and watching movies. My dad is literally the funniest person I’ve ever met, so he constantly keeps us laughing! Getting to have nights like these throughout the week meant so much.
Jesse: This Thanksgiving I am thankful that I have a stable job in a cool place, but even more thankful that I was able to see my sisters and show them some of the things I have experienced in SF. On Thanksgiving Day, Ella kicked Sadie and I out of the kitchen and cooked Thanksgiving dinner completely by herself! We had a great time, and I hope they will continue to visit.
Madison: This Thanksgiving I’m thankful for all the opportunities that have come my way, but also for the ability to come back home and be with my family.
