Los Angeles Travel Guide

Updated: Sep 13, 2020

My sister Olivia and I took one of our annual trips together, and this year it was to LA! We loved exploring a city we have always dreamt of going to. We went in with a very loose itinerary, which ended up being a good thing since it rained for most of our visit.

Below we've pulled together a travel guide of our favorite LA spots from our trip.

Stay

We stayed at a boutique hotel we found on Hotel Tonight called The Prospect Hollywood. It is was the perfect place for our four night stay. Also, the staff was so friendly and there were complementary croissants, orange juice and coffee every morning!

See/Go

  • Rodeo Drive

Liv and I window shopped on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. Although it was raining, it was the perfect start to our day!

We highly recommend shopping at Alo Yoga. We had the store pretty much to ourselves and tried on lots of outfits while we hid from the rain!

  • The Hollywood Sign

Although it was a foggy day, it was pretty cool getting to see the iconic Hollywood sign.

  • Greystone Mansion (Gilmore Girls filming location for Chilton) - 905 Loma Vista Drive, Beverly Hills

We got to see one of the locations where they filmed for Gilmore Girls. We loved exploring the grounds and taking photos!

  • Santa Monica Pier

The pier is definitely a must see spot.

In order to get a great photo on the iconic blue lifeguard stand, I suggest going early in the morning or on a rainy day.

  • Pasadena ('Father of the Bride' house and 'Rumor Has It' house)

Exploring Pasadena was one of our favorite stops! We started at the beautiful 'Father of the Bride' house, and since the sun came out, decided to walk around and find another iconic movie home from 'Rumor Has It.'

On a sunny day, I highly recommend taking a stroll throughout this family-friendly neighborhood.
